For workers: set your own availability, claim gigs that match your skills, and get paid quickly after every shift through secure built-in payouts. GigMe Staff Operations is currently available across Canada, excluding Quebec, with coverage in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Halifax — and growing.
We're putting the finishing touches on the app now. Join the waitlist below to be the first to know when GigMe launches in your city.
Every GigMe worker gets a personal referral code. Invite a friend to start working a gig, and once they complete their first 30 days, you get $20 CAD — straight to your account. Hosts save too: 20% off your next booking fee for every host you refer. The more you share, the more you earn.
"I picked up two bartending gigs in my first week on the waitlist preview. Got paid the same night both times."
"As a host, finding reliable waitstaff for a 200-person wedding used to take weeks. GigMe found me a full crew in two days."
"I love that I can just open the app between classes and grab a shift nearby. No scheduling calls, no hassle."

GigMe is operated by GigMe Staff Operations ("we," "us," "our") and is accessible via the GigMe mobile application and website (gigme.ca). GigMe is a two-sided gig staffing marketplace operating across Canada. We connect Hosts — event organizers, hospitality businesses, and venue operators — with independent Gig Workers such as bartenders, waitstaff, event coordinators, and hospitality professionals, for short-term, hourly-rate work engagements. Our platform covers the full gig lifecycle: gig discovery via map and feed, application and hiring, secure Stripe payments, GPS-based check-in, in-app messaging, dual completion confirmation, automated payouts, and bidirectional ratings. GigMe is a technology intermediary only. We do not employ Gig Workers, direct their work, or act as a staffing agency. The working relationship exists solely between the Host and the Gig Worker. Contact: support@gigme.ca — gigme.ca
A. Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, date of birth (age verification), province and city of residence, profile photo (mandatory for Gig Workers), role selection (Host or Gig Worker).
B. Identity Verification (Gig Workers only): Government-issued ID (passport, driver's licence, provincial ID), work eligibility documents, liquor service certifications where applicable. These documents are reviewed by GigMe officers and stored encrypted.
C. Location Data: GPS coordinates collected at the time of check-in only. We do not track your location continuously or in the background. Location is used solely to verify your proximity to the gig venue (within 200m). You may deny location permission, but GPS check-in will not be available without it.
D. Payment Information: Payment is processed entirely by Stripe Inc. GigMe does not store full card numbers. We store: card brand, last 4 digits, expiry month/year for display only. For Gig Worker payouts: debit card last 4 digits and Stripe account ID. Stripe's privacy policy applies: stripe.com/privacy
E. Platform Activity: Gig applications, bookings, check-ins, completions, messages sent via in-app chat, ratings and reviews submitted, support tickets and dispute submissions, notification preferences and cookie consent choices.
F. Device & Technical Data: Device type and operating system, app version, IP address for security and fraud detection, push notification token for gig alerts.
We use your data to: create and manage your account; verify your identity and eligibility to work; match you with relevant gig opportunities; process payments and payouts securely via Stripe; enable GPS check-in verification at gig venues; send push notifications about gigs, hires, and payouts; facilitate communication between Hosts and Gig Workers; resolve disputes between users; detect and prevent fraud and platform abuse; comply with applicable laws (PIPEDA, CCPA, CRA tax reporting obligations); improve platform performance and user experience.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: Stripe Inc. (payment processing — stripe.com/privacy); Supabase Inc. (encrypted database and file storage hosting); push notification provider (device token only); GigMe Admin Officers (for moderation of ID documents, support tickets, disputes, and flagged content — access is logged and audited); and legal authorities where required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies.
GigMe requests location permission at the time of GPS check-in only. We do not track your location in the background, share your location with Hosts or other users, or store your location history beyond the check-in record.
Government-issued ID and work eligibility documents are stored in an encrypted, access-controlled storage bucket; reviewed only by authorized GigMe officers; not shared with Hosts or other Gig Workers; retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion; and deleted permanently upon account deletion within 30 days.
GigMe uses essential cookies (required for login and security, cannot be disabled), analytics cookies (aggregate and anonymized usage data), and marketing cookies (only with your explicit CASL-compliant consent). You can manage cookie preferences in Settings > Cookie Preferences.
Active account data: retained for the duration of your account. Gig and booking history: retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance (CRA requirement). Messages: read-only after 90 days post-gig, retained for dispute resolution. ID documents: deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Payment records: retained for 7 years per CRA and Stripe requirements. Deleted accounts: all personal data erased within 30 days of deletion request.
Under PIPEDA (Canada) and CCPA (California, USA), you have the right to: access a copy of all personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; delete your account and all associated data via Profile > Settings > Delete Account (type "DELETE" to confirm, data erased within 30 days); request your data in a machine-readable format; withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time; confirm that we do not sell your data. To exercise any right, contact: support@gigme.ca. We will respond within 30 days.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only. All admin access is logged and audited. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). In the event of a data breach, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by applicable law.
GigMe is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we discover a minor has created an account, we will terminate the account and delete all data immediately.
GigMe may contain links to third-party services (e.g. Stripe, map services). GigMe is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
Your data is stored on servers located in Canada and the United States. By using GigMe, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in these jurisdictions.
GigMe sends push notifications for: new gig matches, hire confirmations, payout confirmations, chat messages, and important platform updates. You can manage notification preferences in Settings > Notifications.
GigMe does not currently use AI to make automated decisions about users. If AI-assisted features are introduced in the future, users will be notified and required to provide explicit consent.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify users via in-app notification.

By accessing, downloading, or using GigMe, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. Your continued use constitutes ongoing acceptance. These terms apply to all users including Hosts, Gig Workers, and visitors.
GigMe is a technology platform only. GigMe connects Hosts with independent Gig Workers but is not an employer, staffing agency, labour broker, or employment agency. GigMe does not direct, supervise, control, or manage the work performed by Gig Workers. GigMe does not set work schedules, assign tasks, or evaluate worker performance. GigMe does not guarantee the quality, safety, timeliness, or legality of any gig posting or service provided. The contractual relationship for any gig exists solely between the Host and the Gig Worker. GigMe is not a party to that agreement.
All Gig Workers using GigMe are independent contractors, not employees of GigMe or of any Host. Gig Workers retain the right to perform services for other businesses simultaneously. Gig Workers are solely responsible for: reporting and paying all applicable income taxes, self-employment taxes, and HST/GST to the CRA; all payroll taxes, workers' compensation premiums, and employment insurance (EI) contributions — GigMe does not remit these on your behalf; carrying appropriate liability insurance where required; complying with all applicable laws. GigMe does not provide EI, workers' compensation, vacation pay, statutory holidays, overtime, or any employment benefit to Gig Workers.
You must be at least 19 years of age. You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and are liable for all activity under your account. You must have legal authorization to work in Canada or the USA. Hosts must be legally authorized to post work opportunities in their jurisdiction. One person may maintain only one account — duplicate accounts will be terminated without notice. GigMe reserves the right to verify your identity at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.
Gig Workers must submit a valid government-issued ID before applying to any gig. GigMe officers review and approve or reject ID submissions at their sole discretion. A verified status may be revoked if fraud is detected at any time. GigMe is not liable for delays caused by verification processing times or document review backlogs.
Users may not: provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information; impersonate any person or entity; harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm other users; circumvent the GigMe payment system by arranging payment outside the Platform; post gig listings for illegal, security-related, or prohibited job roles — security roles are not available on GigMe; use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform; use automated systems or bots; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or data; post spam, malware, or offensive content; contact or hire workers outside the Platform after being introduced through GigMe. GigMe reserves the right to remove any content or suspend any user without notice and without liability. All gig postings must have a minimum scheduled duration of 3 hours. GigMe reserves the right to remove any gig posting that does not meet this minimum duration requirement.
All payments are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By using the Platform you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Hosts are charged upon hire confirmation. Payment is held in authorization for 48 hours before capture. GigMe charges a 15% service fee on all Host transactions — this fee is non-refundable. Applicable provincial taxes (GST/HST/PST) are applied based on the gig location province. The Gig Worker service fee is 7%, deducted from the worker's payout. Gig Workers never pay PST. All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Promotion fees ($24.99 CAD tax-inclusive) are non-refundable. GigMe is not liable for payment processor failures, bank delays, or third-party payment errors. Payouts to Gig Workers are initiated within 2 hours of gig completion verification, subject to platform checks. GigMe reserves the right to withhold payment during active disputes.

GigMe operates a referral program that allows eligible users to earn rewards by inviting others to join the platform.
Gig Worker Referrals: A registered Gig Worker may share their unique referral code with individuals who have not previously registered on GigMe. When a new Gig Worker signs up using a valid referral code and successfully completes their first paid gig (as confirmed by both the Gig Worker and the Host), the referral is marked as qualified. The referring Gig Worker will receive a cash reward of CAD $20.00 via Stripe transfer, credited no earlier than thirty (30) days after the date of qualification. Total referral rewards paid to a single referring Gig Worker are capped at CAD $200.00 lifetime; once this cap is reached, further qualifying referrals will not generate additional cash rewards. GigMe reserves the right to withhold or reverse the reward if the qualifying gig is subsequently disputed, cancelled, or found to be in violation of these Terms.
Host Referrals: A registered Host may share their unique referral code with individuals who have not previously registered on GigMe as a Host. When a new Host signs up using a valid referral code and completes their first confirmed booking with a successful payment, the referral is marked as qualified. The referring Host will receive a 20% discount applied to the service fee on their next eligible booking. This discount is applied automatically and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another account.
General Conditions: Referral codes are non-transferable and may only be used once per new user. Self-referrals (using one's own code) are not permitted and will be automatically rejected. GigMe applies a lifetime cap of CAD $200.00 in referral rewards per referring user, and may flag or reject referrals that show signs of abuse, including matching account details or shared signup activity between referrer and referee. GigMe reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time without prior notice. Abuse of the referral program, including but not limited to creating fraudulent accounts, will result in disqualification of all associated rewards and may lead to account suspension.

GigMe was built by people who believe good work deserves real respect — and real pay. Every bartender, host, stagehand, and event coordinator on this platform is part of something bigger. We show up for each other. We hold each other to a higher standard. And we grow together. These guidelines aren't rules forced on you. They're the values our community has chosen to live by.
GigMe operates across Canada — one of the most diverse countries in the world. Our platform is stronger because of the people in it: workers and hosts from every background, culture, language, and walk of life.
We are proud to be a community that includes and celebrates people of all races, ethnicities, national origins, religions, genders, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and ages. LGBTQ2+ members are a valued and inseparable part of who we are — their presence makes our community richer, and their safety and dignity are non-negotiable.
We also acknowledge with deep respect that GigMe operates on the traditional and unceded territories of Indigenous Peoples across Canada. Indigenous workers, hosts, and communities are not just welcome here — they are foundational to the spirit of this platform. We are committed to building relationships rooted in respect, recognition, and reconciliation.
Diversity is not a policy. It is our foundation.
We don't do average here. Whether you're pouring drinks at a wedding or running a 500-person festival, you bring your best — every single time. That's what separates a GigMe worker from everyone else.
This community is built on mutual respect. Period. We don't tolerate harassment, discrimination, or disrespect of any kind — based on race, gender, religion, age, disability, or sexual orientation. One strike. Account gone. No appeals.
Show Up. Always. You committed. They're counting on you. If something comes up, communicate immediately through the app — never ghost a gig.
Look Sharp. You represent yourself, the host, and GigMe. Dress professionally, arrive ready, and leave an impression they won't forget.
Own Your Check-In. Always check in and mark complete through the app. This is how you get paid and how you build your reputation. Don't skip it.
Your Rating Is Your Brand. Five stars don't happen by accident. Be reliable, be professional, be early. Your rating opens doors — protect it.
Keep Your Certs Current. Serving It Right, Food Safe, whatever your gig requires — keep it valid, keep it uploaded. Expired certs = missed opportunities.
Write Gigs That Attract the Best. Be specific. Great workers choose great gigs. Tell them exactly what you need, what to wear, and what to expect.
Pay What the Work Is Worth. Fair pay attracts top talent. The best workers on this platform have options — make yours the gig they want.
Welcome Your Team. Your workers chose your gig. Greet them, brief them, support them. The best events happen when hosts and workers are on the same team.
Confirm Fast. When a gig wraps up, mark it complete. Your workers earned it — don't make them wait.
Respect Their Time. Last-minute cancellations hurt real people who turned down other work for yours. Plan ahead. Communicate early.
Automatic permanent bans:
— Sexual harassment or assault of any kind
— Threatening, violent, or intimidating behaviour
— Fraud, identity theft, or fake credentials
— Arranging off-platform payments to avoid fees
— Showing up impaired — drugs or alcohol on the job
— Soliciting workers or hosts outside GigMe
Minor first offence → Warning
Repeated or moderate → Temporary suspension
Severe or zero-tolerance → Permanent ban
Report in-app or email support@gigme.ca — We respond within 24 hours.
Every gig matters. Every worker matters. Every host matters. GigMe exists because great events need great people — and great people deserve a platform that has their back. Welcome to the community. Now let's get to work. 🇨🇦
